About Stagestruck

  StageStruck Theatre School

It is not just for children who are interested in a career in Performing Arts, but for all children who want to learn new skills in an exciting, dynamic and fun environment.

All of the students are invited to perform in our Summer show held early July at the Tacchi Morris Theatre in Taunton. Our show is with full costumes where they always get to perform to a full house  in front of family and friends.

Stagestruck is always being asked to perform at fetes and festivals and we will look into this next year.

  Aims

Stage Struck  provides quality training in performing arts to children aged from 5 to16 years.

The students will work in their own age groups to ensure that they are given the opportunity to reach their potential in all classes. Classes consist of drama, dance and singing and we aim to make our classes fun!

The sessions are planned so that the children will develop their confidence, communication skills and their ability to work as a team.

Uniform

The students are to wear black school daps, trainers or jazz shoes and long hair needs to be tied back.      During the first term new students are allowed to wear jogging bottoms or leggings and any T-shirt, from the start of their second term they must wear black leggings or black jogging bottoms  and a red Stage Struck T-shirt that is ordered from me .

About myself

I have been the owner and principle of Stage struck Theatre School Somerset for the last sixteen years.     I have two grown up children, Kane, my 28year son who after finishing drama school with a BA honours in acting is now a working actor living life in London. I also have a 25 year old daughter, Paris  who has danced in competions and shows until she left secondary school. Paris sometimes assists me in the upper classes and helps choreograph the older dance groups.                                                                    I also have a lovely assistant, Ellie who helps me with all my classes  and shows.

I have a background in teaching Street, Hip Hop and Commercial  dance. I ran classes in and around the Taunton area for over 20 years at various primary schools, where my students would perform at school fetes, village Hall Fetes, Art Festivals and Christmas shows at Bishops Lydeard village Hall raising money for the School asociations. I have now put all of my focus into teaching at Stagestruck Theatre School to ensure that all of the children get the best out of each lesson.

In my younger years I acted in film, television, theatre, TV commercials and pop videos in England and other countries. I studied acting at the Lee Strasburg school of acting in London before getting married and moving to Taunton where I trained at Bridgewater college and became a fully qualified RSA fitness teacher, teaching exercise to music.

I have full insurance, I am a first Aider which I took with the Red Cross and I hold an enhanced disclosure form which are all kept up to date.
